Create a Personal Distribution List
- From the menu, choose File, New, Distribution list
- Give the distribution list a name
- Click the Select Members button

- Find names from the Global Address List and/or Contacts
- Double-click the name to add to the distribution list. It will appear in the Members box.
- Click OK when members are selected.

- Click on the Save and Close button to save the distribution list
Send to a distribution list
- Create a new message
- Click the To button and select the distribution list from your contacts or type in the name of the distribution list in the To field

Copy a distribution list that someone else has created
- Open an e-mail message that was sent to the distribution list
- Click Reply to All
- Select all the addresses in the To box and use the keys Control + C to copy to clipboard
- From the menu, choose File, New, Distribution list
- Give the distribution list a name
- Click the Select Members button
- Place your curser in the Members box and use the keys Control + V to paste the names
- Click Save and Close
Faculty: Create a distribution list in outlook for class roster
- Login to http://my.tcu.edu/
- Open the Faculty link and click the Faculty Center link
- Choose the Class Roster icon listed on the right side of the class row

- At the bottom of the class roster, click the link Grab E-mail Address List

- The student e-mail addresses will be listed.
- Click on a name to select one.
- Press Ctrl+A to select all.
- Press Ctrl+C to copy.
- Press OK or Cancel to return to the class roster.
- Open Outlook and choose File, New, Distribution List from the menu.
- Give the distribution list a name in the Name box.
- Click the Select Members button.

- On the Select Members dialog box, click in the Members field at the bottom to insert your cursor.

- Press Ctrl+V to paste the class roster e-mail addresses.

- Click OK and OK again to confirm.
- Click the Save and Close button to finish.
TCU All Faculty and TCU Staff Distribution Lists in Outlook
The TCU community is invited to make use of the TCU Faculty and Staff distribution lists located in Outlook. The lists can be used to send e-mail announcements to the entire faculty and staff or for more specific messages tailored to a particular group on campus.
To find the appropriate distribution list, open the Address Book in Outlook and type “tcu” in the search box.

Distribution lists are created automatically based on data from Human Resources. Most are grouped by employee type.

TCU All Students Distribution List
E-mail messages that need to be sent to all TCU students should be directed to the Campus Life office. Upon approval, the Campus Life office will send a message to the entire student body. Announcements such as campus events should be listed in TCUAnnounce at http://my.tcu.edu/.
Share a Distribution List with Others
You can send a distribution list to others by including it in a message. The recipient can then save it to their Contacts.
To send a distribution list:
- Open a new message
- Open Contacts
- Drag the distribution list from Contacts into the message body
NOTE: You may need to adjust the message and the Contacts window so that they're visible at the same time.
- Send the message
To save a distribution list sent to you by another person, do any of the following:
- In the Reading Pane or message list, drag the distribution list attachment to the Navigation Pane and drop it on the Contacts tab
- Drag the distribution list attachment from the message into an open Contacts view
- Right-click the distribution list attachment from the message, click Save As in the shortcut menu, and save it to your desktop. You can then drag it from your desktop and drop it into Contacts.
Other Notes about Distribution Lists
Large distribution lists created by individuals will not be sent through the mail server. The maximum limit is 150 recipients.
