POP / IMAP Email Clients for Faculty and Staff

Outlook Web Access (OWA), located at http://mail.tcu.edu/, is the TCU supported remote email client for use by TCU Faculty and Staff. Other POP3 or IMAP email clients may be configured to access TCU email accounts, but TCU cannot guarantee that they will work. For example, Eudora, Entourage, Thunderbird, Apple Mail, Outlook and Gmail may all be setup to access TCU email.

Technology Resources is in the process of migrating mailboxes to a new Exchange 2007 server.  Follow the appropriate directions below to setup a POP3 or IMAP client.

To configure POP or IMAP email clients:

  • Login to OWA (mail.tcu.edu)

  • Find the configuration settings or setup for the particular application and enter your TCU account information.

  • IMAP is preferred over POP3, but either may be utilized.
  • Always use a secure connection (SSL).
    Port 995 for POP3.
    Port 993 for IMAP.
  • It is recommended to enable SMTP Authentification, if applicable.
  • If using an off-campus Internet Service Provider (ISP), please use the SMTP server address provided by the ISP or contact the ISP for assistance.
