Changing Passwords on SmartPhones

Windows Mobile 5 & 6
  • On device, tap Start then tap Programs
  • Tap Active Sync
  • Tap Menu then Config Server (or Server Setup)
  • If it asks you, be sure to check the box that asks if Active Sync will directly connect to a server. This should take you to the settings wizard.
  • Look for the password entry and change to your new TCU password.
  • Then continue through and exit the wizard saying OK
  • Check your work by tapping Sync (bottom left in Active Sync)


 

Blackberry

  • From the Menu page on the Blackberry, click on Personal Email Set Up
  • (Alternate path if you have a newer Blackberry) You may have to click on Setup then on Email Settings
  • Enter your BlackBerry Internet Services username and password (not your TCU username/password) and click Log In (then Get Link)
  • Under Services click on Email Accounts (then Open (Get Link))
  • You should see a list of your accounts that have been setup
  • Choose the your_TCU_username@tcu.edu account (Click on Edit under the account name then Edit (Get Link))
  • Scroll down page to Password and enter new password in the box (remember that it will only show asterisks "*")
  • Scroll down page to Save and click on it (Click on Save then Save (Get Link))
  • Click on OK
  • Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on Log Out (then Log Out (Get Link))
  • You're done! Cancel out of any screens back to the main page


 

Palm OS

  • Open email application (Versamail)
  • Tap at top of window (should open menu bar)
  • Tap at the top right Accounts
  • Tap at the bottom of the menu Edit Accounts, which will open dialog
  • Tap on TCU (or TCU mail or other similar item), which will open configuration wizard
  • Tap on next until you get to the page that has: Username (TCU username listed) and Password (will only show Assigned) --change this to your new password
  • Tap on OK or Next until the last page
  • Tap on Test Settings
  • If okay then tap on finish until done
  • If not okay, back up until at username/password page and try again.
