ResNet for Macintosh OS 10.4

Step 1:  Find your Network (Ethernet) Address in Mac OS 10.4

  • Go to System Preferences
  • Click the Network button
  • Select Show:  Built-in Ethernet
  • Click the Ethernet button on the right side of the bar
  • Write down the Ethernet ID

 

 

Step 2:  Register your Network (Ethernet) Address

  • Login to http://my.tcu.edu/ 
  • Click Helpful Links from the menu
  • Choose the link:  TCU Network Registration

  • Carefully read the TCU Computing Resources Policy and click Accept to continue

  • For the Subnet, choose:  Student-Wired
  • Fill in Computer Operating System Type:  Macintosh OSX (for 10.4 and lower) or Macintosh OSX.5 (for 10.5)
  • Fill in the Network (Ethernet) Address
  • For My Description, write a short description for the computer registered, i.e. "Frog's Ethernet", for easy identification.
  • Click the Save button

     

    Step 3:  ResNet Setup for Mac OS 10.4

    • Go to System Preferences
    • Click the Network button
    • Select Show:  Built-in Ethernet
    • Click TCP/IP button on the bar
    • Select Configure:  Using DHCP
    • Click Apply Now button

     

     

    Mac OS X setup is complete!
