StuWireless Setup for Windows VistaWireless access is available in most buildings throughout campus and in certain outside areas. A wireless network card that supports WPA2 is required in order to use the StuWireless network.
Wireless Setup for Windows Vista
Before you begin: If you have previously registered your wireless card on the TCU network, then skip to Part 3.
Part 1: Find your Wireless Network Address in Windows Vista

- Select Start
- Type command in the search box and press enter
- Type ipconfig/all (with no spaces) and press enter
- Locate the Physical Address under the Wireless LAN adapter Wireless Network Connection. Several connections may be listed. You may need to scroll up to find the correct one.
- Write down the address

Part 2: Register your Wireless Network Address

- Login to http://my.tcu.edu/
- Choose Helpful Links from the menu
- Choose the link: TCU Network Registration

- For the Subnet/Connection Type, choose: Wireless
- Fill in Ethernet Address
- Fill in Computer Operating System Type: Windows Vista
- Click the Create New Ethernet Address Information button

Part 3: Wireless Setup for Windows Vista
Configuration:
- Select Start
- Select Network

- Select Network and Sharing Center from the button bar at the top of the window

- Select Manage wireless networks from the left menu

- Click Manually create a network profile

- Input the following settings:
Network name: StuWireless
Security type: WPA2 Enterprise
Encryption type: AES
- Remove check for Start this connection automatically
- Remove check for Connect even if the network is not broadcasting
- Click the Next button

- Click Change connection settings

- Select the Connection tab
- Remove check for Connect automatically when this network is in range
- Remove check for Connect even if the network is not broadcasting
- Select the Security tab

- Select authentication method: Protected EAP (PEAP)
- Remove check for Cache user information for subsequent connections to this network
- Click the Settings button

- At the top of the Protected EAP Properties window: Remove check for Validate server certificate
- At the bottom of the window: Ensure that Secured password (EAP-MSCHAP v2) is selected
- At the bottom of the window: Remove check for Enable Fast Reconnect
- Click the Configure button

- Remove check for Automatically use my Windows logon name…
- Click the OK button

- Click OK to close the Protected EAP Properties window
- Click OK again to close the Wireless Network Properties window
- Click the Close button
Getting Connected:
- Select Start
- Select Connect To
- Select the StuWireless network from the list and click the Connect button
- Select: Enter/select additional log on information
- Enter your TCU Username and password to continue
- Enter Logon domain: TCU

- You will see a message: Successfully connected to StuWireless
- Click the Close button

Configuration of StuWireless is complete!
